Sam Raimi's attempt at imitating the Coen Brothers' films like Fargo and Blood Simple where 'normal people try crime' is predictable, lazy and lacking. Characters with no arcs, scenery with no life, and a well-acted but poorly-written "dimwit" character whose disability comes and goes as the plot requires will distract on a rainy afternoon and little more.
