Reprising her Broadway triumph, Rosalind Russell received her fourth Oscar nomination & third Golden Globe Award as the marvelous madcap woman who lives life to the hilt. Life is a banquet, Mame says, and most poor suckers are starving to death! With wit, style and a seasoned cast to dish humor and heart with gusto, Auntie Mame is a full-course meal of entertainment magic. Now restored from its original Technirama negative for a new 4K UHD HDR presentation.

Morton DaCosta's film version of Patrick Dennis's AUNTIE MAME remains a delight after almost 60 years, with quotable dialog to spare. Definitely Rosalind Russell’s signature role. It is a bit stagey but the theatricality is part of what makes this work. The 2017 blu ray was a beauty but the new 4K disc takes the clarity and detail to a new level. It was shot by the great Harry Stradling in the high quality Technirama process developed by Technicolor. Great entertainment.
