The star power of cinema icons Maggie Cheung, Anita Mui, and Michelle Yeoh fuels these gloriously unrestrained action joyrides from auteur Johnnie To and action choreographer Ching Siu-tung. The Heroic Trio and its sequel, Executioners, follow a new kind of justice league: a team of blade-throwing, shotgun-toting, kung fu–fighting heroines who join forces to battle evildoers in a dystopian, noirish city. Blending dazzling martial-arts mayhem with exhilarating blasts of comic-book lunacy, these beloved superhero movies reimagine the genre through the giddy genius of the Hong Kong film industry at its height. 4K UHD + BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURES 4K digital restorations of The Heroic Trio and Executioners, with uncompressed monaural soundtracks One 4K UHD disc of the films and two Blu-rays with the films and special features Alternate English-dubbed and 5.1 surround Cantonese soundtracks New interview with actor Anthony Wong New interview with film critic Samm Deighan (cohost of the podcast Twitch of the Death Nerve) Trailers New English subtitle translations PLUS: An essay by critic Beatrice Loayza THE HEROIC TRIO With this outrageously entertaining cult favorite, director Johnnie To and his lineup of legendary stars gave Hong Kong cinema something new: its own homegrown superhero cinematic universe. Thief Catcher (Maggie Cheung), Wonder Woman (Anita Mui), and Invisible Girl (Michelle Yeoh) are kick-ass crusaders who must overcome their dark pasts in order to defeat an evil, baby-snatching eunuch terrorizing the city. Eye-popping motorcycle stunts, bloodthirsty undead, cannibal infants, and kinetically choreographed wirework are all part of the wall-to-wall delirium in this irresistible showcase for three of the coolest women warriors ever to hit the screen. EXECUTIONERS Maggie Cheung, Anita Mui, and Michelle Yeoh return in this gritty, postapocalyptic sequel to The Heroic Trio. Following a devastating nuclear attack, Hong Kong’s supply of clean water has fallen into the hands of a masked maniac (Anthony Wong) intent on seizing political power—forcing the three fearless fighters to settle their differences and unite to stop him. Darker in tone than the original, Executioners finds Johnnie To and codirector/martial-arts choreographer Ching Siu-tung continuing to push their whirlwind action set pieces to new levels of cartoon craziness, while adding an abundance of grungy, dystopian atmosphere and a fresh dose of antiauthoritarian attitude.

In 1963, director Herschell Gordon Lewis pulled a cow s tongue out of an actress mouth on camera, and in doing so, changed the landscape of horror cinema forever. That sequence was just one of numerous gruesome gags featured in Blood Feast, the film credited as being the world s first gore movie. It s no exaggeration to say that the modern gross-out movies of today owe their very existence to the pioneering efforts of H.G. Lewis. But whilst Lewis is most widely celebrated for his blood-and-guts epics (Two Thousand Maniacs!, The Wizard of Gore et al.), there s more to the prolific director than splatter. From tales of sordid photographers (Scum of the Earth) to sex robots (How to Make a Doll), from biker girl-gangs (She-Devils on Wheels) to youths-run-amok (Just for the Hell of It), and from psychic witches (Something Weird) to hard liquor-loving hillbillies (Moonshine Mountain), the filmography of H.G. Lewis reads like a veritable wish-list of exploitation movie madness. Now, for the first time ever, Arrow Video is proud to present fourteen of the Godfather of Gore s most essential films (including nine Blu-ray world debuts), collected together in a Limited Edition set (only 2,500 in the U.S.) and packed full of eye-popping bonus content. So put your feet up, pour yourself a glass of good ol moonshine, and prepare yourself for a feast H.G. Lewis style! Your next phone call may be your last… The Cold War gets hot as master of action & violence Don Siegel (Dirty Harry) presents Telefon, a thriller of international intrigue. Telefon (a KGB codename for a chilling Soviet plan to blow key US military targets clear off the map) stars Charles Bronson, Lee Remick and Donald Pleasence as hard-nosed players in a hot-and-cold game of spy vs. spy. Hatched years ago during the icy Stalin era, the scheme enlists top Soviet agents—drugged, hypnotized, planted across America, and so secret that they don't know themselves that they're programmed to blow! The plan had been officially scrapped, but now someone is triggering the explosions, and the Soviets must stop him dead. Charles Bronson is the one man able to head off nuclear collision, with the aid of his beautiful KGB colleague (Remick). Telefon is fast and explosive…and ringing with tension. "***1/2! Reworking many of the themes from his previous works Repulsion and Rosemary's Baby … The Tenant proves to be another first-class effort from genre director Polanski. A must-see" – The Terror Trap An apartment with an unhappy past sets the stage for filmmaker Roman Polanski's riveting psychological suspense thriller, The Tenant. Polanski stars as Trelkovsky, a quiet, timid file clerk increasingly overshadowed with dread and fear after he moves into his new apartment. Adding to his paranoia are the building's other occupants, who do nothing to alleviate his growing obsession with the untimely, tragic fate of the apartment's previous tenant. Is Trelkovsky's dread truly justified – or is it simply the result of his seemingly disintegrating mental state? A brilliant international cast – Isabelle Adjani, Melvyn Douglas, Jo Van Fleet, Bernard Fresson and Shelley Winters – and Polanski's own penchant for delivering unprecedented suspense (Repulsion, Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown) make The Tenant a haunting, riveting film classic!

Product Description Fritz Haarmann, aka the Butcher of Hanover and the Vampire of Hanover, was a German serial killer responsible for the murders of two dozen boys and young men during the so-called ‘years of crisis’ between the wars. His case would partly inspire Fritz Lang’s M, and its central character portrayed by Peter Lorre, as well as this forgotten gem from 1973. Tenderness of the Wolves treats the viewer to a few weeks in the company of a killer. Baby-faced and shaven-headed, in a manner that recalls both M and F.W. Murnau’s Nosferatu, Haarmann is a fascinating, repulsive figure. Using his status as a police informant to procure his victims, he dismembers their bodies after death and sells the flesh to restaurants, dumping the remainder out of sight. This isn’t an easy film to watch, but it certainly gets under the skin… Produced by Rainer Werner Fassbinder (who also supplies a shifty cameo), Tenderness of the Wolves provided two of his regular actors with a means of expanding their careers. Ulli Lommel – later responsible for the infamous video nasty The Boogeyman – made his directorial debut, while Kurt Raab wrote the screenplay as well as delivering an astonishing performance as Haarmann. Dark roads, a stormy night and Jean Gabin are the primary ingredients in Hi-Jack Highway, aka Gas-Oil, a French noir gem. Gabin (Razzia Sur La Chnouf) cements his status as one of the pillars of French cinema with a moody and moving performance. And it gives Jeanne Moreau (Touchez Pas Au Grisbi), one of France's greatest actresses, one of her first great roles. After spending the night with his girlfriend Alice (Moreau), trucker Jean (Gabin) encounters a dead body on the road home. He reports the incident to the police but they suspect that Jean is responsible for the death. And then there's that nasty gang of crooks who also are harassing him. Jean is a victim of circumstance and forces beyond his control are closing in on him. But with Alice as his emotional base, he aims to rouse his trucker friends and turn the tables on the forces against him, in this dark and gripping drama co-written by Michel Audiard (Deadly Circuit) and directed by Gilles Grangier (Speaking of Murder).

After making a name for himself with a string of blazing gun battles, The Stranger is hired by the townspeople to provide protection from three ruthless gunmen just out of jail. Directed by Clint Eastwood himself, this pulse-pounding shoot-em-up is recognized as one of his signature western classics. Bonus Content: Theatrical Trailer
