Product Description ***Released for the first time ever on Blu Ray*** In her stunning, semi-autobiographical directorial feature debut, Asia Argento plays Anna Battista, a rising young actress who, despite her popularity and success, experiences despair and degradation at the hands of an abusive industry. Her harrowing journey towards redemption leads her on a sordid spree of excess across America and Europe while trying to recapture her innocence and find true love. Newly restored in HD, Scarlet Diva has been rediscovered by audiences and critics alike in the wake of the Time's Up movement for its full-throated rage against the international filmmaking machine and is credited as perhaps the earliest #MeToo film (San Francisco Chronicle). Bonus features include: Two audio commentaries by Asia Argento - the original commentary from 2002 and an updated commentary (2018) Looking into the Eye of the Cyclops with Joe Coleman featurette Asia Argento interview The Making-Of Scarlet Diva 2018 theatrical trailer Original release promos Review WINNER - Best Actress - Melbourne Underground Film Festival OFFICIAL SELECTION - Toronto Int'l. Ms. Argento's response, at once earnest and thoroughly calculated, is to take revenge by exploiting herself more thoroughly than anyone else could, turning sado-masochism, which is customarily played as a duet, into a solo performance. --A.O. Product Description After traveling the world alongside migrating birds (Winged Migration) and diving the oceans with whales and manta rays (Oceans), Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud return to more familiar ground: the lush green forests and megafauna that emerged across Europe following the last Ice Age. Winter had gone on for 80,000 years when in a relatively short period of time the ice retreated, the landscape metamorphosed, the cycle of seasons was established, and the beasts occupied their new kingdom. It was only later that man arrived to share this habitat, first tentatively as migratory hunter/gatherers, then making inroads in the forest as settled agriculturalists, and later more dramatically via industry and warfare. With it's exceptional footage of animals in the wild, Seasons is the awe-inspiring and thought-provoking tale of the long and tumultuous shared history that inextricably binds humankind with the natural world. Product Description THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES, based on the New York Times best selling novel and set in South Carolina in 1964, is the moving tale of Lily Owens (Fanning) a 14 year-old girl who is haunted by the memory of her late mother (Burton). To escape her lonely life and troubled relationship with her father (Bettany), Lily flees with Rosaleen (Hudson), her caregiver and only friend, to a South Carolina town that holds the secret to her mother's past. Taken in by the intelligent and independent Boatwright sisters (Latifah, Okonedo and Keys), Lily finds solace in their mesmerizing world of beekeeping, honey and the Black Madonna. Amazon.com Headed by an all-star cast of women, The Secret Life of Bees is the heartwarming and well-told story of a young girl who finds love and acceptance from a trio of independent sisters. The Secret Life of Bees is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Sue Monk Kidd and centers around the plight of 14-year-old Lily (Dakota Fanning). Assuming the burden for her mother's premature death, she has a precarious relationship with her abusive father T. Ray (Paul Bettany). Lily's only friend is her caregiver Rosaleen (Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson). Set in South Carolina in 1964, when civil rights wasn't a given, Rosaleen's life is threatened by racists who'd just as soon see her dead than exercise her right to vote. Lily runs away with her to a town she believes may hold the secrets of her mother's life. There the pair meet the Boatwright sisters August (Queen Latifah), June (Alicia Keys) and May (Sophie Okonedo)--who produce the area's famous Black Madonna honey. They eventually provide Lily with the unconditional love she never felt she had and also show Rosaleen that being a black woman in the South doesn't mean she can't have a sense of worth. The Secret Life of Bees doesn't try to pass itself off as a historical documentation of race relations in the 1960s. But the fictional slice of life still resonates because of the feelings of injustice that it stirs up. Though the film is written to show the disparity between blacks and whites, there is always a strong sense of hope, thanks to the lead actresses who bring empathy and dignity to their roles. Hudson exhibits some of the same quiet grace that Regina Taylor brought to her role as the family housekeeper in the superb TV series I'll Fly Away. Latifah has the part of wise matriarch down pat, even when she's playing a sister rather than a mother. And it's clear that Fanning is making a seamless transition from kid to young adult roles. Whether she's giving an impassioned monologue or listening thoughtfully, Fanning brings nuance and intelligence to her role. --Jae-Ha Kim Beyond The Secret Life of Bees Australia The Ultimate Gift Amazing Grace Stills from The Secret Life of Bees (Click for larger image)

In 2003, eight Rhode Island artists created a secret apartment inside the busy Providence Place Mall and lived there for four years, sneaking in furniture, tapping into the mall’s electricity, constructing walls, and even smuggling in more than two tons of cinderblock, filming everything along the way. More than just a wild prank, the apartment became a deeply personal expression of defiance against local gentrification, and a boundary-pushing work of public/private art in which large-scale charitable art projects were planned, including, finally, a 750 square-foot middle finger to The Man. Featuring never-before-seen footage of the space and revealing the participants for the first time, SECRET MALL APARTMENT is more than just a bonkers true story. Documentarian Jeremy Workman (The World Before Your Feet, Lily Topples the World) delivers a poignant exploration of a group of artists who discovered their purpose within the most commercial and improbable places.

A punk rock road movie about love, death, jerky, kidnapped newlyweds, 24-hour minimarts and a magical brainstem that promises immortality. THE OFFICIAL WORLDWIDE HOME VIDEO PREMIERE INCLUDES 2 VERSIONS & 3 HOURS OF SPECIAL FEATURES In 1989, UCLA film students Russell Bates and Matt McDowell borrowed a 16mm camera, maxed out their credit cards and made a punk rock road movie about love, death, jerky, kidnapped newlyweds, 24-hour minimarts and a magical brainstem that promises immortality, featuring appearances by L.A. music scene icons that include Redd Kross, Milo Aukerman of Descendents and Peter Case of The Plimsouls with soundtrack vocals by Bob Forrest of Thelonious Monster. But when the finished film was unable to find theatrical distribution, it instead became an underground bootleg legend. Now after nearly four decades, this "offbeat saga of America wrapped in a Big Mac carton" (Daily Bruin) has been scanned in 2K from the original negative and is presented in both its Original Version and Producer's Cut with 3 hours of all-new Special Features. Blu-Ray pressing. Long considered lost until a complete dupe negative was identified in the vaults of la Cinémathèque française last year, this William Gillette film is a vital missing link in the history of Sherlock Holmes on screen. By the time it was produced at Essanay Studios in 1916, Gillette had been established as the world's foremost interpreter of Holmes on stage-having played him approximately 1300 times since his 1899 debut. This newly-restored edition, thanks to the monumental efforts of both the San Francisco Silent Film Festival and la Cinémathèque française, represents the sole surviving appearance of Gillette's Holmes on film. Presented with optional French and English intertitles and an original score composed and performed by Neil Brand, Guenter Buchwald, and Frank Bockius, Flicker Alley is honored to bring Sherlock Holmes onto Blu-Ray for the first time ever. The film faithfully retains the play's famous set pieces-Holmes's encounter with Professor Moriarty, his daring escape from the Stepney Gas Chamber, and the tour-de-force deductions. It also illustrates how Gillette, who wrote the adaptation himself, wove bits from Conan Doyle's stories ranging from A Scandal in Bohemia to The Final Problem, into an original, innovative mystery play. Film restorer Robert Byrne says, "It's an amazing privilege to work with these reels that have been lost for generations. William Gillette's Sherlock Holmes has ranked among the holy grails of lost film and my first glimpse of the footage confirms Gillette's magnetism. Audiences are going to be blown away when they see the original Sherlock Holmes on screen for the first time.”
