*This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* Vinegar Syndrome specializes in the masterful restoration and distribution of cult, horror, and erotic films from the 1960s-90s. Following a well-needed two-year hiatus, the erudite Dr. Francis B. Gröss returns to further ponder and expose the mysteries of death. Hardly content with his initial morbid surveys of the forbidden, rarely discussed topic of how life ends, he pushes further to show nature's wintry grasp on life, how finality arrives in the boxing ring, and other lethal sights so shockingly primal they beg to be seen. Enthusiastically expanding his sweeping investigations on crime and human atrocities, Gröss paints a shattering and unparalleled portrait of mortality. Following the unprecedented success of its shocking predecessor, the filmmakers behind Faces of Death created a film even more unsettling in its stark and unflinching realism, offering an even deeper descent into the depravity and savagery of humanity with FACES OF DEATH II (1981). From fatal accidents to the unspeakable cruelty of war, medical experiments, and other abominable acts too heinous to describe, no facet of man’s destruction of his fellow man is left unexplored. Vinegar Syndrome Archive reluctantly brings this even more notorious sequel to 4K UHD and Blu-ray, presented in its fully uncut and uncensored original theatrical version, available for the first time on video in the US, newly restored from its 35mm negative. Bonus Features: 1. 2-disc Set: 4K Ultra HD / Region A Blu-ray 2. 4K UHD presented in Dolby Vision High-Dynamic-Range 3. Newly scanned & restored in 4K from its 35mm original negative elements 4. Alternate 78-minute U.S. Video Version of FACES OF DEATH II (sourced from video) 5. A never-before-seen deleted scene from FACES OF DEATH II (5 min) 6. *This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* Vinegar Syndrome specializes in the masterful restoration and distribution of cult, horror, and erotic films from the 1960s-90s. The shocking analysis of death in full color continues in the expanded, ambitious FACES OF DEATH III! Amid the ongoing success of their appalling series of video-rental favorites, the makers of Faces of Death decided to branch out and make a more conventional "mondo movie." The result was FEAR, an exploration of fears, superstitions, urban legends, and the real-life carnage that so often accompanies them. Despite having had a brief release in Europe, by the time a US debut was ready, the runaway demand for Faces of Death sequels was so overwhelming that FEAR was re-tooled and re-titled to FACES OF DEATH 3, which featured the return of the erudite Dr. Francis B. Gröss (Michael Carr) in video-only hosting segments. Even with the enduring popularity (and wild notoriety) of the Faces of Death series on home video, audiences have been deprived for over forty years of the opportunity to see what is easily the most unusual and unexpected release from the Faces of Death universe. Vinegar Syndrome Archive is very proud to bring this wild and original mondo production to 4K UHD, painstakingly restored to its initial theatrical version as FEAR, in addition to its much more commonly seen FACES OF DEATH III video version, and packaged with an array of extra features. Bonus Features: 1. 2-disc Set: 4K Ultra HD / Region A Blu-ray 2. 4K UHD presented in Dolby Vision High-Dynamic-Range 3. Newly scanned & restored in 4K from its 16mm original camera negative 4. Alternate Faces of Death III video version, sourced from standard definition tape 5. Isolated music track 6. Reversible sleeve artwork 7.
