Great Chicago setting and maybe one of the best Seagal movies (which isn't saying much!), but overall doesn't really hold up. Great supporting cast, but hard to not think this would have been much better with literally anyone else than Seagal. That said, his running in this movie might be one of the funnier things ever filmed.

Jaafar Jackson's performance as his uncle is amazing, and the fact they were able to get the full song library really elevates it. Other than that, basically a Lifetime movie. Still enjoyed it.

Went into this completely blind not knowing the history of this world and the characters and it completely blew me away. You'll spend much of the movie just trying to figure out how these guys made some of this work, some of it just makes your head hurt trying to fathom how they could have done it. Also, a fun movie with some legit LOL moments and great vibes.

Maybe the worst Statham movie, almost no punching and a terrible, pointless plot. Lots of wasted acting talent in random, small parts. Gets a bonus star for some unexpected Tucci in the last 1/4 though.

Actually a little better than I expected. Character actors crushing it left and right in supporting parts (Bruce Greenwood! Tony Goldwyn! Tom Sizemore! Josh Lucas!) A good counter-watch to my favorite movie All the President's Men to see what was going on on the other side. If you enjoyed that, this is worth watching for sure.

0 stars and 5 stars simultaneously. 0 stars because it's poorly written, acted and executed in nearly every way. 5 stars because it hits a sweet spot of late 90's/early 2000's vibes that would have been great to pick up at Blockbuster along with some Taco Bell. It also has things like Ice Cube playing a character named "Desolation Williams" and Jason Statham as "Sgt Jericho Butler". Don't know h...

Nice to have a silly comedy as there's not many of them anymore. If you've seen Wet Hot American Summer you've got an idea of the style of sense of humor here, although this one more plot-driven as a Wizard of Oz-like journey and less randomly silly. Funny cast and some genuinely LOL moments, but also a little meandering in parts.

I quite enjoyed this, the last 30 minutes very much a lean forward in your seat, locked in experience. Nice to see Spielberg and Williams combo still has some tricks 50 years on, hopefully they have a few more in them. Some genuinely fun movie magic moments here. Blunt especially good. 4k and audio is high quality, serves the story well, watch on the biggest screen you have.

Maybe the best of the Criterion discs, a beautiful transfer of a classic. The movie is ridiculous in the best possible way, music, pacing, characters, everything is top notch. Large Marge in 4k everything I wanted.

Maybe the best crime movie ever made. Been imitated 1,000 times since, but nothing beats the original. Perfect cast, pacing, music, cinematography, sound design, everything. For such a stellar movie, the 4K disc is a little lacking. HDR a bit drab. Probably due for a Criterion edition soon to make it reference worthy
