Basically the perfect movie. Impeccable cast, gorgeous scenes, fantastic cinematography, wonderful score, achingly beautiful story.
It's based on Kazuo Ishiguro's novel of the same name. Ishiguro has said that he compares the life of the English butler to that of a Japanese samurai, and you can see the parallels in that the ethos of both holds loyalty above all else.
