This movie had me squirming in my seat and covering my eyes a few times. The movie tells the story from different POV of people affected by the disappearance of the kids. As the mystery starts to get revealed there's more and more tension and more gruesome violence. The great great buildup leads to a great climax. PICTURE QUALITY - Excellent color palette. Very well done scan. SPECIAL FEATURES -...

In terms of the humor, this has the same vibe as another horror-comedy, Ready Or Not. Semi-villainous rich family tries to take advantage of a dead unicorn, while the virtuous outsiders try to do the right thing. But then it becomes a monster movie as unstoppable monsters come in on a very gruesome rampage. Lots of graphic killings here mixed in with pretty good humor. SPECIAL FEATURES - audioco...

Really really good movie! Rutger Hauer is amazing as a relentless killer following C Thomas Howell's naive kid character through Texas, killing everyone around a terrified Howell. The focus is on the terror, of course, but I was surprised to find that there is an emotional journey that the characters go though as well. My quibble is that Hauer's character is sometimes too powerful, almost supernat...

Bad directing. Bad acting. Bad script. Bad plot. Just bad. Emma Watson's character goes to work for a giant social media company (think Google & Facebook combined). She becomes the company's star "Circler" when their data collecting cameras (Flock cameras on steroids) save her life and she's all in until bad stuff happens. The dialogue they give the characters is weird. The story arc is uneven. ...

Kurosawa is one of the top 5 directors in the history of moviemaking. RAN is his most ambitious, and gorgeous, movie. Shakespeare's King Lear is transformed into a breathtaking, visually stunning, piece of cinema. In Ran, a Japanese lord decides to retire, and he gives over his empire to his three sons. The son who has the lord's best interest at heart understands that this will lead to trouble, ...

NOTE - Paramount originally released The Saint as a blu-ray in 2021. In 2026 they are releasing the 4K UHD, and the package includes the SAME bluray (same scan, extras, everything) as was released in 2021. This review is for the 2026 bluray (same as the 2021 bluray), not the 4K So much bad weirdness. The main put-off for me was the way that Elizabeth Shue's character is written as such a complete...

So much bad weirdness. The main put-off for me was the way that Elizabeth Shue's character is written as such a complete oddball that she falls head-over-heels for the Saint disguised as a cartoonish euro-trash who says creepy things. But then when she finds out that he's actually a super-thief - she still wants to be with him! Very, very, bizarre. The goofy costumes and weird characters maybe c...

This movie is fine if you want an UNDER-90-minute movie to pass the time. Definitely don't want to think too hard about it. Or have to pay attention to the dialogue. Because... boy the dialogue mostly stinks. Wes Craven's horror sensibilities are put to good use when the movie becomes a hand-to-hand battle between the two stars. There's some genuinely exciting moments as the protagonists battle....
