Which high-end Dolby Atmos soundbar system would you choose?

Wow. Just wow. Sorry for the long winded response😂 We upgraded to the JBL Bar 1300MK2 in our family room from a pretty basic 2.1 soundbar, and I honestly wasn't prepared for how HUGE the difference would be. I knew it would sound better, but this thing completely transformed the room. The first time we fired up a good Dolby Atmos scene, it was basically “WAIT… that sound came from WHERE?!” 😂 The biggest surprise might be that my wife even loves it — and she normally couldn't care less about my home theater/audio obsession. That's probably the highest praise I can give it. 😂 The detachable battery-powered rear speakers are genius. No wires running across the family room, no permanent rear speakers to deal with. Just detach them from the soundbar, put them behind you when you want full surround sound, and dock them back on the bar to recharge when you're done. Whoever came up with that deserves a raise. And the subwoofer? Let's just say our family room now occasionally doubles as a minor earthquake simulator. Dialogue is crystal clear, music sounds fantastic, and movies went from “watching TV” to feeling like we accidentally installed a movie theater. I was expecting an upgrade but NOT expecting this big of an upgrade. Best 1K upgrade I've spent money on in awhile. Better than just upgrading TV size incrementally.

I’ve wondered about the point of wireless rears for a long time… Do people really tend not to use them that often enough to completely remove them to charge?

My wife does not like keeping the rears there all the time so we do move ours back to the main speaker. That's the main reason we choose the JBL for that ease.

Purely aesthetics for us. If it was up to me, I'd not move it and keep permanent ones in the rears.

I’ve got a Bravia Bar 9 at the moment, trying to decide if I should add a sub or rears as first priority.
