This movie is held together by the two main leads because their chemistry/romance is what keeps you interested. There isn't much to the plot and it feels very disjointed at times. I appreciate the dark and somber tone of the movie, but some of the poetry scenes came across as cheesy. Not my favorite Singleton movie, but it's still highly recommended.

I went into this movie blind and had no idea it only focused on a particular period of his life. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it just never clicked for me. The scenes with musical performances were well done and exciting, but that's about it. I would pass on this movie unless you're already a Springsteen fan.

A very good psychological thriller with a villain who is completely unhinged! The story can be a bit over the top and feel campy at times, but is still effective at delivering suspense and dread throughout. Worth a watch if you're looking for a wild ride!
